Hello,
I am a teacher running a gardening club at Roberto Clemente Middle School in Germantown and I was wondering what kinds of community resources might be available to us. I was wondering specifically about seeds/starts, soil, or garden building materials. Some goals we have are to build cold frames for our raised bed veggie garden, planting a Monarch Waystation on campus, and creating a native pollinator garden. I am new to the area so I am unfamiliar with what community supports are available so any information is welcome. Thank you so much for your help and support!
Cheers,
Chelsea

Your local county Extension office and Master Gardener group may have helpful resources to share like demonstration gardens, presentations about various subjects (including vegetable gardening, pollinator gardening, and native plant gardening, all popular MG subprograms), and information about sources of supplies. The linked pages have contact and other information.
Concerning food gardening, we have a Healthy Garden, Healthy You Toolkit for schools and communities that may be useful. Although its focus is Baltimore City and Prince George’s County, it still might provide some ideas, tips, and inspiration.
We also have a collection of web pages (to which more content is always being added) about native plant gardening and selection, which you can browse under the "native plants" topic tag (see link). In addition, there are topics for "insect-friendly gardens" and "pollinators and beneficial insects," which will overlap a bit in content since many beneficial insects (like those eating pests) are also pollinators.
