I believe we had a Northern Harrier in our back yard yesterday, November 24. It attacked and killed a hen. We are wondering if it was, indeed, a Northern Harrier.

I'm sorry to hear that you lost a hen. This is not a Northern harrier, but a red-tailed hawk. Note the dark band of mottling across the belly - a great way to ID a red-tail from afar.
