Expert Response

Greetings Alan,

Please find attached soil report.  You can confirm the exact location you are looking at.  Please let me know if you have any questions about the soil.  Looks like it is either Jory silty clay loam, basalt or Jory-Dupee complex.

Jory Series:
USE AND VEGETATION: These soils are used mainly for orchards, Christmas trees, vineyards, cane berries, grass seed, timber production, wildlife habitat, and watershed health. Vegetation is dominated by Douglas-fir with scattered Oregon white oak and understory of poison-oak and rosebush.

DRAINAGE AND PERMEABILITY: Well drained; moderately slow permeability.

Dupee Series:

DRAINAGE AND PERMEABILITY: Somewhat poorly drained; moderately slow permeability. An apparent water table is at its uppermost limit from December to April.

USE AND VEGETATION: Most of these soils have been cleared and are used for Christmas trees, homesites, orchards, small grain, hay and pasture wildlife habitat and watersheds. Native vegetation consists of Oregon white oak, rose, poison-oak, grasses, and sedges.
