Hello,
I am looking for volunteers from the University of Minnesota who might be looking for some landscaping jobs to build their portfolio. My husband and I recently bought a house, and we would like the landscaping re-done all around the house. We do not have any allergies to plants, but we do have a pug. I just wanted to see how I would go about looking for volunteers. I figured since we live in South Minneapolis, it wouldn't hurt to ask the University if they have students looking to complete projects for their portfolio.

This forum does not offer a service to match students to paid and unpaid interships. University students have more volunteer opportunities than can be filled.
Good luck with your new home landscaping. Looking at homes in your neighborhood for plantings, designs and plant material you like is where I would start. Pay attention to what you can offer anything you plant. Plants have requirements for sun and water and “the right plant in the right place” are major factors for success.Also pay attention to a plants size at maturity. Some plants are too large for small urban lots.
