I am a beginning farmers and I have some patches of Jimsonweed. I was told that they are extremely toxic and may even need to wear some type of PPE to handle the plant. Could you please provide information about the best safety practices when handling the plant and how to best deal with it after it has already gone to seed and hopefully before it goes to seed next time. Additionally, how should it be disposed of? I would like to avoid herbicides.

Our local assessor's office (Jackson County) deemed our farm not compliant with Oregon's EFU Farm Special Assessment Program. They suggested we "reach out to Oregon State Extension Office to begin writing a remediation plan, as they have many resources that may help you." Hello! Last night (11/20) we discovered a strange collection of clearish chunky slime directly adjacent to our home, in the front yard. I would very much like to know what this is, if possible! It has been raining pretty consistently for the last several days, daily temperatures in the 40s and 50s. The ground under the slime is dirt with mulch and some leaves on top.

Do you have written information on growing micro greens indoors?

A friend asked me what to do with the two caterpillars that came in on one of her plants. Can you tell me? They are bright green, about an inch and a half I think. And what she said was confusing: one of them may have become a pupa. Could you also answer for that too? She lives in Montgomery County so you can tell what kind of weather she's having in case she's supposed to put them outside. I don't know whether they would live or not... I/we greatly appreciate it!

We got 4 Orpington Chickens in the spring of this year. We are approaching some winter weather in Tennessee. They are in a small mobile coop that is fixed to a larger open-air flight pen. We have already started the winterizing process for the coop. We have added 6 mil plastic to the outside of the open-air areas leaving space for ventilation but blocking wind/rain/etc. We have also wrapped the enclosed coop with bubble wrap-style insulation (pictured), added a layer of straw bedding, and included an electric waterer. My question is: is this enough to keep them warm this winter or do they need a heat lamp too? This is our first winter with chickens and would like to know how to proceed. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you!

How deep is too deep for leaves for tree health? We have a large garden and forest area. My husband wants to blow all the leaves into the forest, but I am concerned that the leaf piles will be too high for rain to get through to the trees. We have one compost bin, but it is already full.
